Date of the Parade:  Saturday, November 19, 2011
Please forward the following on to everyone in your group.

1.    THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING!

2.    The Parade starts at 10am sharp.

3.    Vehicles in the parade are numbered when they arrive at the Auditorium Site.  If you are having more than one vehicle in the parade – all vehicles must arrive together to be placed together.

4.    Only vehicles in the Parade will be allowed in the Auditorium parking lot.

5.    Vehicles will be allowed to drive along Beverly Street and stop briefly (5 min max) close to the entrance by Paul Shaffer Drive to allow children to disembark.  Car must remain running.  Please bring another person if children must be accompanied.  Go to the information booth located at the end of Paul Shaffer Drive for directions to your float.

6.    Please note that vehicles travelling along Beverly Street will be in with the float traffic trying to get into the marshalling area for line-up, so if they choose to come this way, expect delays.

7.    Please do not park along the residential streets off Beverly Street.  It is very annoying to the residents who live there and in previous years someone’s car alarm went off for hours.

8.    Parents/drivers can park vehicles in the baseball stadium and walk over Paul Shaffer Drive.  All walkers are requested to go to the information booth at the end of Paul Shaffer Drive to get directions as to where their float is located.  We ask that participants not walk between the floats before checking with the information booth.

9.    If you have animals, ie. Horses or dogs participating in the parade, please remember the pooper scooper.

10.    Once the parade begins, floats are asked to travel along Memorial Avenue SLOWLY.  Remember people are walking.

11.    Shaw Cable will be taping in front of the EconoLodge – located on the right hand side of the street – so smile and wave going by.

12.    Make sure that your participants DO NOT throw candy into the crowd.  Have walkers give candy directly to the children.

13.    Once your float makes the left hand turn into the CLE site – DO NOT STOP.  There are floats behind you.  Floats must travel around the movie theatre by the Sports Dome where there is room for participants to disembark from the float.  Floats can then leave the parking lot by the left side entrance onto Northern Avenue and proceed to Fort William Road.

14.    At the CLE site - The Heritage building will be where children can warm up and greet Santa.  Coffee, hot chocolate, popcorn and Robins Eggs will be available.  Santa is the last float and will arrive sometime around 11:30am.

15.    When your float leaves the CLE grounds, you are now a regular vehicle on the roadways.  Ensure that no one is riding on the float.

16.    Parents arriving at the CLE grounds are to arrive using Northern Avenue from Balmoral or travelling north along May Street and turning onto Northern Ave. There will be police directing traffic.  Let them know to expect delays.

17.    Consult the maps for the Auditorium and CLE grounds.  Please make sure your drivers are given a copy of the maps and these instructions.
