A Message from the Club President

Rotary is an amazing global organization comprised of a dedicated network of over one million community volunteers.  Rotary members are business, professional and community leaders just like you, your colleagues, your neighbours and friends, who provide humanitarian service, encourage high professional standards and foster goodwill and peace throughout the world.

Rotary Clubs participate in a broad range of humanitarian projects and initiatives dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and communities, building better relations between peoples, and promoting world peace and understanding.  Our principal motto of “Service Above Self” is a reflection of the commitment that Rotarians feel toward creating a better tomorrow by responding creatively to the challenges of today.

The emphasis of the 2009-2010 Rotary year will be in the areas of water, health, hunger and literacy as well as on providing the final push toward realizing our goal of eradicating polio throughout the world.  We will continue to build on our successes and strive toward improving the health and well-being of children and their families both at the community and global levels.

Membership in the Rotary Club of Thunder Bay~Fort William will lead you to unexpected places of discovery, contribution, adventure and reward.  It will afford you the opportunity to expand your professional network, enhance your leadership skills, broaden your perspective of the world and participate in both local and international initiatives.
