Thunder Bay, 11.7.2019: - Fort William Rotarians, along with the house builder, presented the ceremonial key to Jessica Chunick, the winner of the 33rd Annual Fort William Rotary House Lottery. The grand prize was a fabulous 1790 square foot home valued at $590,489.00. Built by Lormar Construction Ltd. (Mario Michieli), the house is located in the Sherwood Estates. Fort William Rotary was also happy to announce that the proceeds from this year’s House Lottery total $435,000.00!

Of the lottery’s success, Club President Stephen Margarit said, “It is so great to see Thunder Bay once again support our lottery which has such a positive impact on our city and region. This lottery not only gives a dream house to one lucky winner, it provides funds to charities throughout our community. We increased our proceeds by over $100,000.00 over last year and we have almost hit the $6 million mark for total funds raised over 33 years.”

On hand today at the presentation were Club President Stephen Margarit, House Lottery Committee Chair Dave Knutson, Media Chair Gordie Garriock, prize winner Jessica Chunick, as well as Lormar Construction owner Mario Michieli, and son Nick Michieli.

“This House Lottery is a real community effort, comprising our 43-member club, the many businesses in town who act as our ticket outlets, the Builder’s team and dedicated volunteers. We would not be able to accomplish this project year after year without many hours of work,” said Dave Knutson, Chair of the House Lottery Committee. “Preliminary work has already begun on the 34th House Lottery and we hope to see the community support our project once again.”
